Stroll a little further, past the crazy golf, lively pubs and quaint tea-shops and you will arrive at the bustling harbour area where you can arrange fishing trips, an excursion to Lundy Island or simply absorb the breathtaking coastal scenery. Enjoy a light snack or dine sumptuously at any of a wide variety of pubs and restaurants clustered around the harbour and scattered throughout the town.

For a complete change of scenery the untamed magnificence of Exmoor National Park is a short drive away, rewarding the visitor with glimpses of fascinating wildlife including Red Deer and, of course, the famous and always beguiling Exmoor Ponies.
Alternatively the historic market town of Barnstaple is well worth a visit with its colourful Victorian Pannier Market and mix of modern shopping centre and traditional high street stores. Should you wish to leave the car behind there is a frequent and reliable bus service to Barnstaple.
